Wellbeing communications
Your people’s health, happiness and safety is indisputably linked with your organisation’s success. So you’ll be chuffed to know we’re pros in strengthening health and safety comms, generating a culture of inclusion and diversity and enhancing mental health.
Building a positive work culture
Creating a culture where everyone is asked to dance – and has the freedom and vitality to rock the floor.
Promoting health in body and mind is great for your people. Brilliant for your business. And a no-brainer for your future success.
The freedom to be ourselves, in an environment where minds and bodies can recharge, is critical to wellbeing.
But did you know effective internal communication is itself a driver for health and happiness? It’s why we take a truly universal view.
Shifting behaviours. Transforming beliefs. Saving lives.
Our client partnership is a true partnership. H&H listens to our needs and provides practical and professional solutions, but also challenges our thinking to add greater value.

How wellbeing can fuel your people and your performance
We’re not machines. Or racehorses, for that matter. We perform best when our very human needs are met.
Heard the one about keeping employees finely tuned, well oiled and fed the finest nosebag?
Not in terms of treating them like mechanical creations or animals. But understanding what they need to do their best work, and making sure they have it.
Treat people like people and their wellbeing will thank you for it.
That means limiting stress. Building energy. Giving space and time to shine. The only similarity with machines is that wellbeing must be a core piece of your organisation, not a bolt-on. That’s when everyone wins.
Why are wellbeing communications important?
At H&H we know a healthy and happy team can go a long way to creating a strong and prosperous organisation.
That doesn’t mean we practise slow living at work or are pushing the art of ‘fika’ on all our employees. It means we really get the importance of wellbeing communications to improve employee morale, reduce any stigma around mental health and, overall, enhance the way people work.
Clear and effective wellbeing communications help to create a working environment that’s caring, supportive and considerate to employee needs. They let people feel confident that their wellbeing is a priority – and show them where support is available if they want it.
Wellbeing communications are important because they help to create a sense of belonging, a feeling of trust and team spirit among employees.
What can I do to improve wellbeing communication?
Many of the great approaches and techniques you might apply to any internal communication apply to wellbeing, too.
Some of the subject matter within wellbeing communication might be sensitive to some employees so it’s important to use clear and positive language.
Understanding the different employee groups and their distinct wellbeing priorities will inform the way you communicate various wellbeing subject areas. Personal stories can help to paint a picture of different scenarios to drive empathy and understanding.
A dedicated online area or hub with wellbeing updates, information and resources and the opportunity to discuss certain wellbeing subjects, can provide reassurance for employees.
Beliefs, terminology, and understanding of wellbeing are constantly evolving. So it’s beneficial to appoint wellbeing champions to be responsible for wellbeing communication.
Communication of wellbeing can adapt and evolve as new information and understanding develops, with experts within your organisation delivering an effective approach to supporting employees’ needs.

Culture is a living, breathing thing. It needs nurturing, defining, protecting – and a whole lotta love. So why not give it the respect it deserves?
