Improving organisational culture through the power of Virtual Intelligence
Is improving workplace culture high on your to-do list? How about enhancing internal communications so that employees are supported to live their best lives – and make a valuable contribution to your purpose – no matter where, or when, they choose to fire up their laptops?
And yes, we get it – claiming that a strong organisational culture and brilliant internal communications can help people live their best lives might sound like a grand claim. But when you think about how much of our time we spend at work, it really can make a massive impact on how we feel both in and out of the office. Virtual or otherwise.
It doesn’t matter whether your organisation is remote, hybrid or full-time office-based: chances are your colleagues are interacting, communicating and collaborating using digital tools and channels for a significant chunk of their time. In many instances, more than they do face to face. And on the whole, most of us even remember to turn ourselves off mute – apart from when Microsoft Teams delivers an update that throws us off kilter by muting us all be default.
This virtual working world has become the norm for so many of us. And yet strengthening organisational culture in a remote working environment, or making sure colleagues feel engaged and connected in a hybrid workplace, continues to have people scratching their heads.
What if we told you that there’s a way to make sure employees are as connected, collaborative and productive as possible – whether they’re working from home, fired up in the office or sourcing inspiration from the hum of their local coffee shop?
The answer comes down to ‘Virtual Intelligence’ (VQ). And specifically, nurturing the core behaviours and skills that make it happen.
What is Virtual Intelligence? Put super simply, it’s Emotional Intelligence in a virtual working world.
As a communicator, you can create the perfect conditions for VQ – and your people – to flourish. It’s a case of modelling VQ in your internal comms approach and actions. Find out how in this eye-opening talk from our MD, Cathy.
